Employee Spotlight: Hunter Barnes

“Decide what to be, and go be it.” - The Avett Brothers

August 9, 2022

Greetings!

We’re going to start off this blog a little bit differently than usual as we make some exciting changes over here at MTS to our public relations project. My name is Quintin Wesolick, a recruiter and public relations organizer within MTS. You will be hearing from me and the rest of the MTS crew more consistently in the near future.

This first blog to kick things off is a very special new series: MTS Employee Spotlight, where you can put a face to the name and find out some of the quirks which make our team tick.

It is my pleasure to introduce you to Hunter Barnes, our primary recruiter for MTS. Hailing from Rockwall, Texas this man has had quite the ride. After graduating from Rockwall High School, Hunter decided to pursue an unlikely study of the arts by packing up his guitar and attending the Musician's Institute in Hollywood to study, of course, guitar, audio engineering, and music business. But, being the academic he is, Hunter decided he also wanted a Bachelors at CU Boulder, just to prove to the world he could.

Today, Hunter lives outside of Denver, CO and loves to visit Breckenridge, CO whenever he can. Hunter considers himself to be a hot sauce connoisseur with over 150 bottles of different hot sauce at the peak of his collection. Pictured below is just a taste of the many crates of hot sauce this man has in his possession. And as if hot sauce wasn’t enough, he is also an avid LEGO set collector.

Hunter’s refrigerator, stocked full of hot sauce packages.

So how did this LEGO and hot sauce mastermind end up at MTS?

As though it were always meant to be, Hunter and our founder, Tim Morris, have known each other since Hunter’s birth (he literally has a “welcome home” letter from the Morris’ in a memory box from his childhood). Hunter has enjoyed working with the team here at MTS for the past four months.

When asked his favorite thing about MTS, Hunter responded:

“I love the staff. It's a very lighthearted crew that makes it very easy to be around and bounce ideas off of one another.”

However, Hunter’s love for melody cannot be stifled. Someday, Hunter hopes to get back into the music business in one form or another. For now, he is excited to pursue opportunities within MTS and even play the office a tune or two on his guitar when he is in San Antonio.
